Heather Hohlbein - Lead Volunteer Coordinator

Mrs. HohlbeinDear LCS Parent/Guardian,

We would like to thank you for electing to participate in the Family Service Agreement (FSA). Programs such as FSA have been instrumental in helping private schools across the country to control the escalating cost of education. We also believe this program is true to the heritage and tradition of LCS. Parents and faculty have always partnered to provide academic excellence and spiritual formation to our students. We are truly excited about the possibilities this program has for our school in the years to come.

Heather Hohlbein will act as Lead Volunteer Coordinator for the FSA program. In this role, Heather will be responsible for working with LCS faculty to identify volunteer activities, match parents/guardians to the right role, ensure parents/guardians are trained, and handle all administrative tasks for the program. Heather will have three children in LCS in 2010/2011 and has been very active in volunteer activities in LCS and her church. We’re looking forward to her leadership! Please feel free to email Heather at hhohlbein@lenawee.org with any questions you may have.

The FSA policies and procedures, application, background check form, and job descriptions are posted on the LCS website. (Paper copies will also be available in both offices.) On the home page, please select “Family Service” which is located on the left side of the screen. The policies and procedures will give you a better understanding of the program’s structure going forward. They have been developed by benchmarking best practices at other schools with similar programs and from feedback received from LCS parents and faculty. As with any program, we will continue to assess the program’s effectiveness and iterate as necessary to maximize the benefit to the students and school.

The list of job descriptions will grow throughout the year as new volunteer activities are identified. Right now there are more than 150 ways to serve at LCS! There are roles that fit a wide variety of gifts, talents, and abilities. Please review the initial job descriptions and list your top areas you would be interested in serving on your application. Matches will be made in the coming months!

Below are a series of key dates and inputs needed for us to get the program up and running:

  • Parent/Guardian FSA Packets available on the LCS website - May 26, 2010

  • Initial Volunteer Matches Made (E-mail from Heather) - August 1, 2010
