At all ages, students need a safe and secure environment to effectively learn and reach their full potential. We take this very seriously at Lenawee Christian.
Our facility is consistently rated by law enforcement as one of the safest in this community. Our doors are secured through the day and all visitors must be cleared through the Elementary of High School offices for admittance. We have video surveillance throughout our property. All of our staff and volunteers receive thorough background checks. We send our staff through training with local law enforcement and the Office of Homeland Security on a recurring basis. Locks are optional on student lockers. We do everything we can to foster an environment of trust.
Parents, especially in the elementary grades, are encouraged to escort their children to the classroom. School can be intimidating for young students and we want to do everything we can to make them fell welcomed and safe. We ask that parents wait near the office areas until class is dismissed, but after that they are free to go to the classroom. Parents must fill out a permission slip for anyone other than them to pick up their children.
Small class sizes create a strong learning environment where students get the individual attention they require. Here at LCS we have full-time, professional aides that assist teachers in the pre-school and kindergarten classes.Throughout the elementary grades you will see volunteers and professional resources dedicated to helping our teachers give each student the opportunity to reach their full potential. More than anything you will quickly notice how much our faculty and administration care about your children. Bonds run deep through our school as we all seek to grow closer to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Our goal at LCS is to be a leader in preventing and dealing with bullying. Bullying is a preeminent issue plaguing schools across Lenawee County and America. It takes away the enjoyment of school and dampens the students ability to learn and grow. At Lenawee Christian School, our teachers are trained each year on new techniques for dealing with bullying in the classroom and school. Our policy is linked below and is based squarely on biblical principles. The faculty does its best to target physical, verbal, and cyber bullying. Communication is key to this strategy and we ask parents and students to be a key part of the process as we try to help our students through this difficult issue.
The Dress Code at LCS has been designed by our school board to reduce student distractions and embrace modesty while allowing students to express their individuality. Please review the policy linked below. Students in violation of this policy will be disciplined and may be sent home to change clothes.
