Lenawee Christian School has started a discount and boarding program for students from missionary families.
We understand and appreciate the difficulty of providing a top tier education for your children while serving in the mission field, and we also understand the financial constraints. Our goal is to be a blessing to your mission and assist in providing an affordable, high quality private school education in a safe, Christian environment for those missionary families interested in an alternative to education abroad for their high school aged children. We have a history of having international students from all over the world at our school. LCS has learned their unique needs and how to integrate them into the school. We believe this experience is a key ingredient in servicing the needs of missionary students.
Lenawee Christian School has been in operation since 1977. It has been one of the best private school facilities in the country. LCS is a christian school with a biblical foundation focused on influencing our students for life. We are accredited through both the advanced and the Association of Christian Schools International. Our student population is aapproximately 600 from Preschool through twelfth grade. At LCS, smaller class sizes allow personalized attention. Our test scores are well above state and national averages. Ninety percent of our students go on to college, many with unique scholarship opportunities only available to LCS graduates. Our students get a well-rounded education focused not only on academics, but also in drama, music, athletics, spiritual formation, and community service. Adrian, Michigan is 45 miles southwest of Ann Arbor, home of the University of MIchigan. Adrian is a town of approximately 20,000 people with many of the conveniences of major U.S. cities. Tuition for missionary families is for the 2011/2012 school year is $4,270. We are blessed with financial support for this ministry that makes a 30% reduction in tuition rates possible. Missionary families are not eligible for additional financial aid through the school. Several local churches are in partnership with the school to provide host homes for students from missionary families. Every year there are a limited number of homes, so please enroll as early as possible to insure a spot. Room and board is covered through a stipend in the amount of $100 per month paid to the host family. There are also application fees ($150), enrollment fees ($300 -$400), and various charges that may apply for elective activities through the year.
