About LCS Elementary
Our elementary classrooms provide a loving and supportive environment for students to engage in meaningful learning at their level of development. We believe that each child is created with unique gifts and talents that we are excited to help them discover. At LCS, our staff spend time getting to know each child deeply, and work in close partnership with parents to provide an individualized approach to their literacy instruction that supports each child’s academic needs.

Our goal at Lenawee Christian School is to develop the total child. Thus, our emphasis is placed on each child’s individual spiritual, social, emotional, physical and intellectual development.

You child’s journey into Kindergarten and lower elementary is one of the most critical transitions in childhood and we are dedicated to making your child’s experience both fun and successful. Our educational team will support and assist your child in developing a love for learning and build a strong foundation that will allow them to experience remarkable results each year of their elementary journey.
Lower Elementary Highlights
(Grades K-3)
Our goal is to develop the whole child, so we devote care and attention to your child’s individual spiritual, physical, intellectual and social-emotional needs. We want to see them flourish in all areas of academics and succeed in building healthy friendships within their learning community.
We use a wide variety of activities to accomplish these goals:
Engaging lessons allow students to make meaningful connections and develop a broad base of knowledge across subject areas
Personalized balanced literacy approach
Small group instruction supports deeper level comprehension targeted specifically to each child’s identified areas of need
Instrumental Enrichment (IE) instruction develops confident learners ready to embrace new challenges through applying cognitive strategies
Movement and fitness instruction in PE
Field trips
Educational technology woven throughout each day
Fine arts weekly instruction in Music and Art

Upper Elementary Highlights
(Grades 4-5)
In preparation for your child’s successful and seamless transition into our secondary school, our upper elementary staff devote care and attention to preparing your child for the next stage in their academic journey.
We use a wide variety of activities to accomplish these goals:

Personalized balanced literacy approach that includes reading, writing, and word study
Small group instruction supports deeper level comprehension targeted specifically to each child’s identified areas of need
