New Student Lunch Account System Launching Fall 2021
One of the more frustrating things about school lunch accounts is when you don’t know your child is running low or when it seems that you just filled up the account and it’s already empty again. Where are the funds going? Why can’t the process be easier? These are the questions we’ve been asking, too, which is why we’ve been migrating to a completely new solution.
Like we’ve offered before, parents will be able to send funds to each child’s account, transfer funds between accounts, and see what students have purchased. With the new system, you’ll also be able to see what they have purchased and even restrict students from buying specific items. Does your child have a food allergy? Restrict them from buying those items for their health and your peace of mind. We look forward to sharing even more of the benefits of this new system when it launches in the next few weeks.
With so many schools making the switch to this system over the summer, our implementation has experienced several delays, and our old system is no longer in use, so in the meantime, here is the process to add funds to your child’s lunch account.
How to add lunch funds while we’re waiting for the new system
- Write your child’s/children’s name(s) on an envelope
- Place cash or a check written to LCS inside the envelope with the funds you want to be added to their account.
- Place the envelope in the lunch box drop box located just outside the high school offices, Little Cougars office, or just outside and to the right of the cafeteria entrance.
- If you would like to split funds between multiple children, please include instructions of how you would like it split. If no instructions are given, we will split the funds evenly.
Note that fund balances from our old system may not be accessible. We do not know the timetable for accessing those funds, as that system is no longer available to us.
Thanks for your patience while we work toward the launch of this new system!
