Kris grew up on a farm and graduated from Blissfield High school. She went on to Taylor University for a year, then graduated from Michigan State University with a major in Human Ecology and a minor in Spanish. She also has a Master’s degree from Siena Heights University in secondary education and a Master’s degree in English as a Second Language from the University of Toledo. She studied Spanish at the University of Madrid in Spain and worked in the Peace Corps in Quito, Ecuador. While there she visited many other countries in South America. After returning to work in the U.S., she has taken three trips to various parts of Mexico to visit friends and study language and culture and two mission trips to Nicaragua. She feels blessed to have worked many years before coming to LCS with many foreign adults living here in the U.S., teaching them English as a Second Language. Among them were Hispanics, Koreans, Japanese, Vietnamese, Lebanese, Jordanians, Saudia Arabians, and Russians.
Before coming to teach at LCS, her two daughters attended and graduated from LCS. She is married to Jeff Yeutter who has a CPA business in Blissfield. They live in Adrian and attend the Adrian First Church of the Nazarene. When she has days off, she often goes to Hillsdale to help her daughters and eight young grandchildren. You also probably see her often at The Centre participating in the exercise classes. In the summer she likes to swim and read.
