Fine Arts: Drama Camp
Join us for GODSPELL JR. for DRAMA CAMP 2019! Don’t know the show? Here’s a must-see clip from the 2011 Broadway revival. IT’S GOING TO BE AMAZING!
Summer Drama Camp is the best of two FUNtastic experiences:
- It’s DRAMA – with an expertly produced musical where campers are fully immersed in the best theatrical experience. They act, sing, and dance their way through two incredibly rewarding weeks of rehearsals, growing their skills, building their abilities, and making great friends all along the way.
- And it’s CAMP – complete with water wars, scavenger hunts, games, crafts, and even fun visits to the Corner Park!
Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz. It took the world by storm with its whimsically-inventive presentation of the Gospels.
The cast helps Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and hefty doses of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus’ life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus’ messages of kindness, tolerance, and love come vibrantly to life. Boasting a score with chart topping songs, a book by a visionary playwright (John-Michael Tebelak) and a feature film, Godspell is a sensation that continues to touch audiences.
This show’s rich Biblical lessons will provide especially spiritual experiences for our campers, gifting them with the precious opportunity to deepen their personal relationships with Jesus.
