LCS is excited to announce an innovative new January term for our middle and high school students, called iXplore. This three week experience will challenge and inspire our students as they strive to reach their full potential.
“The goal of J-Term is to allow our students more freedom to follow their hearts and enjoy a different mode of learning that more closely resembles the real world. It will open doors for our students that a traditional school model will not allow,” said Jeff Mudrow, Head of School.
At the high school level, students will choose one or two courses during this period. Opportunities include fun and relevant academic courses, mission trips, ministry opportunities, and internships. As an extension of LCS’s partnership with Huntington University, qualifying LCS students will have the opportunity to take a tuition free, college-credit course on the Huntington campus during the three week term. Huntington University is one of many colleges that employ the J-Term model.
At the middle school level (grades 6-8), students will choose four classes during iXplore versus their traditional eight. Longer class periods will allow them to dive into topics and interactive studies that are not as well suited for shorter class periods. Students will have a wide range of fun and relevant courses to select, including real-world opportunities.
