New Student FAQs
Starting at a new school is a big event and we recognize there are thousands of questions. We want to help in this process. Don’t hesitate to stop in the high school or elementary office with a question or ask your teacher or even a fellow parent. Below is a list of some questions that new families have. This website is filled with additional information about the school and as a parent in LCS you will have access to our school information system called RenWeb.
Do you offer busing?
Yes. We offer flexible options for student transportation, from daily pick-up and drop-off to as-needed bus passes. To learn more about our transportation options for your family, complete our Transportation Request form.
What safety precautions have you taken to protect students during school hours?
Doors are locked during the day and there are card readers at all entrances and video surveillance throughout the property. All Visitors must be buzzed in and must check in to office and wear visitor badge while in the building. All parents must complete forms authorizing who can pick up their child after school.
How can I meet and socialize with other students to make new friends?
Getting involved in several school activities or sports will rapidly increase your ability to make friends. Every year LCS has special activities through which you will meet new friends. We also offer new student orientations at the beginning of each year for students and parents to meet one another and “Connector” parents in their class.
Who can I contact to learn more about the school before I apply?

Will I need to buy all new clothes for school because of the dress code?
Our dress code is principle based – Student attire should be (1) God honoring (2) Modest (3) Safe (4) Non-distracting. We partner with parents to guide children to make good choices in the area of appropriate clothing. In most cases, new students do not need to make significant purchases to comply with the LCS student dress code.
