January 29, 2020 — Adrian, Michigan. Softball is making a comeback this spring for the Cougars. Craig Anderson, LCS athletic director and Tom Durbin, head of school, made the announcement to LCS families on Monday, January 27, 2020. “This is an exciting day for LCS,” said Craig Anderson. “We’ve had some interest in softball over the past five years, but not until now have all of the necessary pieces come together, ” he continued. “We’ve seen a number of students interested in playing this year, other schools are willing to add us to their schedules, and we have been able to secure a coach who understands what it means to be a part of the Cougars athletic program.”
Amy Sanford will be leading the coaching staff this spring as the varsity softball coach. Amy is also a fourth grade teacher in her first year of teaching at LCS. She has coached at the high school and college level and specializes in pitching. Coach Sanford said, “I am excited to begin a new journey for softball at LCS. I truly feel God’s direction in opening this position and I am praying for his guidance as we move forward. I have loved getting to know the LCS families this year and I can’t wait to be a part of this new softball family.”
“We look forward to seeing the continued revival of our softball community at LCS,” said Mr. Durbin. “I look forward to seeing our students, parents, alumni and fans cheering on the Cougars when they take the field this spring.”
The 2020 season will begin for the Cougars on March 24 against Sand Creek.
