Dr. Kristy Taylor
Executive Director
Dr. Kristy Taylor brings more than 25 years of experience in education and executive leadership, including roles as an assistant superintendent, high school principal, and most recently, Vice President of Talent and Training for a growing business incubator. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership with a minor in Human Resources, and she has consistently demonstrated her ability to lead with compassion, data-informed strategy, and a commitment to servant leadership.
Dr. Taylor’s background includes oversight of large-scale school improvement initiatives, facilities planning, human resources, curriculum development, and strategic financial management. She has also served on several boards, taught at both the high school and collegiate levels, and has deep personal roots in Christian education.
Thomas Koppen
Head of School
Thomas Koppen was born and raised in Cumberland, Rhode Island. Following high school, he served as a logistics officer in the military for 24 years, serving in both the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army. He also served with the United States Army Special Operations Command in several capacities, including multiple combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2010, he was selected to teach at the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he served for five years. After retiring from the military in 2016, he continued in the field of education as the Senior Army Instructor for the Junior ROTC program in Cape Coral, Florida, for six years. From 2022 to 2024, Thomas served as the athletic director and administrator at Covenant Christian School in Panama City, Florida. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Bluefield College and a master’s in education from the University of Virginia. Thomas has three sons, ages 27, 25, and 18.
Mekeisha Black
Director of Advancement and Enrollment
Mekeisha studied Social Work at Eastern Michigan University and later pursued nonprofit leadership certifications through the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. She has a heart for nonprofit work, fundraising, relationship building, and event planning, and is passionate about using her gifts to help build the Kingdom of Christ.
Outside of work, Mekeisha enjoys spending time with her family, embracing the joys of motherhood, trying out new pizza spots, and life on the family farm.
