Relationships are at the heart of what LCS provides. We begin by creating an environment that welcomes and encourages students to develop, foster, and nourish a relationship with Jesus Christ. This happens through the relationships with passionate faculty, staff and administration who truly get to know each and every student. In the classroom, through the hallways, on the stage, and on the courts and fields, student’s unique needs and interests are met and developed. Lenawee Christian School delivers a high-quality Christian education where students are academically, spiritually and socially inspired and equipped for success throughout life.
The academic program prepares students for success in the 21st century. The dynamic curriculum reflects our foundational belief that academic excellence is the result of a partnership with the family and church where biblical truth is integrated through all subjects. The curriculum reflects research-based content purposely chosen to broaden and deepen student intellect in an environment where it is safe to learn from mistakes. Demonstrating the capability to communicate visually through graphics and text as well as orally is a hallmark of an LCS education. Students have access to a diverse course catalog inclusive of Advanced Placement options, Dual Enrollment options through our partner colleges and universities (along with the exclusive scholarships these partnerships provide our graduates), and Fine Arts opportunities. The teaching of life skills is embraced particularly through the 12-day J-Term session in January where classes such as Life Hacks, You Make the Call (as the referee), Gaming and Animating, and Calligraphy are taught. Students enjoy getting up for school where they learn to apply their critical thinking and communication skills while building relationships with other students and faculty.
Each semester, students are enrolled in a biblical education class. At the upper grades, students have their choice between a variety of options. Biblical integration is not limited to the Bible classes, but is evident through all subject matter. Presented from the perspective that all truth is God’s truth, students have the opportunity to be guided to understand the nature of God through science and math, understand the need for God through the study of history, and methods to communicate God’s truth in English. Students have the opportunity to participate in the worship team and as class chaplains. Each week the student body gathers for a corporate worship service we call Chapel. Dynamic relationships are fostered to the power plus groups where gender specific groups meet with a mentor over the course of the school year to further nourish the relationship with an adult and other young men and women.
Outside the Classroom
Educational opportunities abound outside of the classroom. Leadership opportunities are provided through membership in the National Honor Society. Service opportunities such as tutoring other middle or high school age students or providing support in an elementary or preschool classroom are abundantly available for the LCS student. Global service and mission trips are offered each year. The drama and performing arts program is well known for the high quality facilities and performances that are showcased on the Centre Stage each year.
Athletics at Lenawee Christian School is an extension of the teaching and training that takes place within the classroom. We believe teams and competition are a training ground for spiritual formation, character and life skill development. Competition places student-athletes, coaches, and parents in a situation where their character is revealed. As this character is revealed, we can celebrate the positive Christ-centered responses and continue to learn through accountability to submit our will and way to God within the environment of competition.
LCS is part of the South Central Athletic Association (SCAA) in cross-country, football, golf, and track. The boys’ and girls’ soccer teams are part of the Independent Soccer League (ISL) while our baseball, basketball and volleyball teams play an independent schedule. Each of our high school sports are part of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) and have opportunities to compete within the state championship tournament.
Coaches are focused on engaging each athlete within a 3 Dimensional Coaching model which focuses on teaching proper fundamentals, influencing through healthy motivation, and inspiring the heart of each student-athlete to strive toward their full potential in life and within competition.

The LCS student services team supports our students as they navigate the various aspects of high school life. Whether it is selecting the best course of study to accomplish their lifelong dream or a loving adult to support students through unexpected life challenges, the students will experience the benefit of being known. Through ongoing meetings with individuals and groups, and individual one on one meetings, the student services team provides ongoing guidance and support. We work closely with our partner colleges and universities to provide our students the opportunity to enroll in dual enrollment classes where up to 30 college credits can be earned.
