Position: LCS Communications Associate

Classification: Part-Time Hourly Non Exempt

Reports To: Director of Advancement and Enrollment

Lenawee Christian Ministries provides a Christ-centered education, spiritual development, and wellness services to the Lenawee County community, centered around Jesus Christ.  

 

Position Summary: 

The LCS Communications Associate plays a vital role in enhancing the visibility of Lenawee Christian School through effective communication strategies. This position supports the school's social media presence, internal and external communications, and content creation for various school publications. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

·         Social Media Management: Oversee and manage all school social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, etc.) to engage with the school community; create and schedule content highlighting school events, student achievements, faculty updates, and faith-based initiatives; design basic graphics and posts for social media and other communication platforms using tools like Canva, Adobe Suite, and/or similar platforms.  

·         School Newsletter (Cougar News) Support: Assist in the creation, design, and distribution of the school’s bi-weekly newsletter, Cougar News; collaborate with faculty and administration to gather and curate relevant content, including updates from various school departments, upcoming events, and community news.

·         Administrator Communication Assistance: Provide support to the administration with drafting and sending out important communications to staff, students, and parents; proofread and edit school communications for clarity, tone, and consistency with the school’s mission.

·         Additional Communications and Literature: Assist in the creation of brochures, flyers, and other promotional literature; help to maintain the school website, ensuring it is up-to[1]date with the latest school news and events.

Qualifications: 

  • Christian Faith: 

o   Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. 

o   Adherence to Christian principles and values in both personal and professional life. 

  • Educational Background/Experience: 

o   Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field (preferred).

o   Proficiency in basic graphic design (Canva, Adobe Suite, or similar platforms) required.

o   Prior experience in communications, social media management, or marketing preferred.

o   Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
