Position Summary:
The Secondary Bible Teacher and Spiritual Formation Leader is a critical position at Lenawee Christian School. This role is responsible for teaching Bible courses and fostering spiritual growth and development among students. Reporting to the Secondary Principal, this person plays a pivotal role in shaping the spiritual and moral compass of our school community.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching:
Conduct engaging and comprehensive secondary-level Bible classes, fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of biblical principles.
Develop and implement effective lesson plans, incorporating diverse teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, open discussion, and spiritual exploration.
Spiritual Formation:
Design and lead spiritual formation programs aimed at nurturing the spiritual growth of students, fostering a sense of community, and promoting ethical values.
Organize and facilitate regular chapel services, prayer meetings, and other spiritual events to enhance the spiritual life of the school community.
Provide one-on-one mentoring and counseling to students seeking spiritual guidance and support.
Collaborate with other educators and administrators to integrate spiritual formation principles across the curriculum.
Community Engagement:
Work closely with parents, guardians, and the broader community to enhance understanding and support for the school's spiritual formation initiatives.
Organize and participate in outreach activities that connect the school with local faith-based organizations and community service opportunities.
Qualifications:
Exemplify Christian character and values in accordance with the lifestyle agreement.
Cultivate positive and effective relationships that foster trust and respect among all stakeholders.
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Theology, Divinity, or a related field. Masters preferred.
Teaching certification and experience in secondary-level education preferred, with a focus on Bible or religious studies.
Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead students in spiritual formation.
Ability to integrate faith principles into teaching and spiritual formation programs effectively.
Innovative and adaptable teaching methods that engage students and foster a love for learning.
Strong organizational and leadership skills to coordinate spiritual events and initiatives.
