Centre Cafe Manager

Position: Café Manager

Classification: Full-Time Hourly Non-Exempt

Reports To: Director of Food Service

About Us:

Lenawee Christian Ministries provides a Christ-centered education, spiritual development, and wellness services to the Lenawee County community, centered around Jesus Christ. 

Position Summary:

As a Cafe Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Cafe. Your primary objective is to ensure the smooth functioning of the establishment, provide excellent customer service, and drive profitability. You will lead a team of employees, coordinate various scheduling, and maintain high standards in all areas.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Manage all aspects of the cafe's operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and maintenance of equipment and facilities.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, sanitation standards, and licensing requirements.

  • Develop and implement efficient workflows and processes to optimize productivity and customer service.

Staff Leadership and Development:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise cafe staff, including corner park concessions staff.

  • Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and monitor performance to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction.

Customer Service and Sales:

  • Foster a customer-centric environment and provide exceptional service to ensure a positive customer experience.

  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a timely and professional manner.

  • Implement strategies to increase sales, such as suggestive selling, promotions, and weekly specials.

Portion and Quality Control:

  • Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and portion control to maintain high standards.

  • Seek customer feedback and suggest changes to the menu and offerings based on customer preferences and trends.

Qualifications:

Christian Faith:

  • Profess and demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

  • Adherence to Christian principles and values in both personal and professional life.

Educational Background/Experience:

  • Proven experience in a managerial role within the food and beverage industry, preferably in a cafe setting.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a diverse team and foster a positive work environment.

  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on exceeding customer expectations.

  • Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ
